Connection and friendship are at the heart of how I support as a doula. Through monthly meetings, we will prepare for your birth experience together, exchange resources, dive into past births and views of birth, let your vision for your birth unfold, and work on ways to best prepare for that vision. Helping your partner is key; if possible, they would be present for several visits so that they can also feel informed, support and prepared. As your doula, I am always available via phone or text.
I support you wherever you give birth (for however long you give birth!): home, birthing center, or hospital. Once I arrive, I will create the atmosphere you desire. We will begin comfort measures, coping techniques, and positions to help labor progress and reduce tension. As labor moves forward, I will assist you and your partner in making informed choices that align with your preferences as much as possible. I will work in a collaborative manner alongside your care team.
During your birth, we will involve you partner in different positions and comfort measures. As needed, they can take breaks. If they become overwhelmed or worried, I will ease their concerns and calm them. I fully believe that your partner will always be the person in the room who knows you the best and we will often rely on them for that knowledge and love. My goal is never to replace them, but rather to support them so that they can best support you and enjoy the experience.
I will stay with you a pre-arranged time after labor, to assist with lactation, bonding, hydration and nutrition, and to help you get settled in.
My birth support fee includes birth photography, if that is something you desire. While I'm present as your doula, that hands-on support and presence comes first, but I am usually able to get a minimum of thirty edited photos.
You will receive a sneak peek within forty-eight hours and then your private online gallery within two weeks.
During postpartum, I will typically visit 1-2 times to check on your recovery and how feeding is going. We will share birth memories together and process the events. As needed, I can refer you to my carefully compiled list of resources if you desire specific care (such as a chiropractor, lactation consultant, physical therapist, etc.) or if you are interested in local courses or parenting support groups. I will do my best to see that you are surrounded by a village of support.
I believe deeply that every family deserves a doula. If you are hesitant because of financial reasons, please reach out to me. I operate on a sliding scale and am open to payment plans.

Birth is magical, wild, intense, and blissful, and these themes are reflected in my work and editing style.
For birth photography, I will be present for as long as you like during your birth, so that I can capture all the beautiful, tender, and powerful moments. I will stay with you through the Golden Hour to preserve special memories like the first latch or feeding, skin-to-skin bonding with both partners, and even meeting older siblings and family if desired.
I serve about a 60 mile radius from Lawrenceburg , KY for photography.
